His love for nature, forests in particular, has been very important for Hermann Novak since his early childhood. He attended forest schools Gainberg and Bruck and finished with the state examination as a forester. He started his internship at Mayr-Melnhof Salzburg-Kogl in 1969 and remained with them until 1989. During this time, he took his forest engineering examination. “Ingenieursprüfung”.
Forest Mapping Management (fmm) G.m.b.H. was founded in 1989 upon his idea to offer forest management plans as a service. From then on, Hermann Novak was able to develop his many innovative ideas in the area of forestry, aerial photography, forest maps and GIS applications. He has been a recognised expert and consultant in all areas of forestry and photo flights in Austria ever since.
Fmm is fully in the hands of the Novaks since 2000. From then on, Wiltraud Novak has been CEO together with her husband. She is also responsible for marketing and customer service in both forestry and aerial photography.
